I am reading through Dever's "The Message of the Old Testament" and came across this powerful quote:
"Sin looks good only in the dark. It looks best when it is barely considered, quickly indulged, and never reflected upon. So bring it into the light of thought, reflection, prayer, and especially of God's Word."
How true!

You cant fully resolve this tension Bekah. It’s the problem with us being finite. The bible teaches us that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart and that Pharaoh hardened his own heart. BOTH are true, even through they seem to contradict each other (in the Divine mind of God they do not!)
A book that will greatly help is by JI PACKER, “Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God.”
