Rex let me down....

I posted a few days ago the following

So IF i was not a die hard Bear's fan i would probably predicate the following:Colts 27-17 Bears

I was VERY close in my non-Bear's fan pick. Sadly, i was off in regards to Rex in the Super Bowl. He had a pretty good playoffs but made 2 really bad passes/decisions in the Super Bowl which ult. lost it for us. Manning was good but not great. The Colt's O-line took it to our D-line and the Colt's D played amazing all playoffs long. What can you say it was a nightmare game (da Bears lose and P Manning goes out a super bowl winner). I could not think of a much worse scenerio than that. Congrats to Colts fans on your first Indianapolis Championship.

I found this on a GLOG, OUCH

"Yah! Time for the Cannon to unleash the dragon! Another high popup down the field is intercepted by Bob Sanders ... and I think it´s clear now that the Super Bowl MVP for the Colts is Rex Grossman."

Last thoughts then i am off to bed.

5 turnovers for the Bears? 5 TOs. IF we only had 1 or 2, we probably would have won the Super Bowl even with Rex Grossman's average day (minus 3 TOs average that is).

How would you like to be Cedric Benson. 2 carries in the game: 1 a lost fumble, the second a super bowl ending knee injury. Now that is about as bad as it gets.

I am thankful i am a Christian for many reasons (some large some small). A small reason is that i can put this game in perspective. The Bears bring me alot of joy and alot of anguish (like tonight). At the end of the day though, I'm saved, the game (though amazing) has no eternal significance, I'm married to Andrea, Evelyn is my daughter, and I have an amazing family.

Good, i feel better already. :)

Until next season. GOOD Night.

CK, that was a great game.

The elements were in Chicago's favor, but Indy prevailed.

Multiple turnovers were in Chicago's favor, but Indy prevailed.

Low scoring was in Chicago's favor, but Indy prevailed.

A stadium filled more with Chicago fans than Indy fans were in Chicago's favor, but Indy prevailed.

Special teams for Chicago was waayyy in Chicago's favor, but Indy prevailed.

Chicago's front 3-4 are very powerful and dominating, but Indy prevailed.

...it was Dungy's, Manning's and Indy's time.

You have to admit that it just felt that Indy was going to will their way to that win all game.

Mark,

The Colt's did play a better game than the Bears. It was an exciting game atleast until the 2nd Grossman INT.

I don't think anyone would have thought the Colt's O could keep the ball for as long as they did. That is why Manning was given the MVP (and because many felt bad for him like they did for Elway before John got the job done).

I can't disagree with anything you wrote except this, "multiple turnovers were in Chicago's favor, but Indy prevailed." The Bears did force 3 but gave away 5. We needed to win this battle by one or two not lose it.

Congrats to you and Joe! You guys are the biggest Colt's fans i know. I can handle smack from you guys since you've been behind your boys for a long time.

It is all these bandwagon marginal fans that will drive me nuts. :)
