A Great Day in the NFL

I wonder if our faithful Colts fans will comment today? I have long argued with my Indiana friends that i would pick Tom Brady over Peyton Manning in a big playoff game. Until last year Mannings QB rating/record and Bradys QB rating/record during the playoffs were not even close. Now this year Mr. Tom cool is on pace to smash the regular season records of Mr. Manning.

I had church Sunday PM so i was not able to see much of the game. I was able to see the end which was the best part...Tom Brady makes some clutch plays and leads the Pats to a come from behind victory in Indy no less. Manning has a chance to be a hero but he fails. He holds on to the ball too long has it knocked out of his arms into a Pats player to seal the Colts fate. He then pounds his hand into the turf knowing full well Mr Brady is the best QB in the game right now and that the Pats are the best team.

The NFC North showed its grit with G.B beating K.C. and Minn beating San Diego and Detroit defeating Denver.

The AFC South is probably the best division in football this season. The Colts and Titans are great teams. New Orleans did defeat Jacksonville yesterday though. When the Titans get Pacman Jones back next year and if they can sign a few quality wide recievers during the off season look out. They have one of the best D's in the league.

The AFC East (minus N.E.) and the NFC West are horrible. The NFC East and The AFC South are probably the two best divisions in football right now.

For a "true" Chicago fan, oddly enough there is a hole in your commentary about those world class Bears...hmmm. Oh, that is right, they are actually below Detroit in the standings... Can you say "Bandwagon"? Let me guess, you were a Dallas fan in the 90's and a 49ers fan in the 80's, all just a coincidence of course.

On to other news, yep, Brady beat Manning fair and square. 18 did not look good, especially in the 4th qtr. However, I was at the game and Brady didn't look all that great most of the game either. The Colts D did a great job of disrupting things for Brady and the Pats had no answer for the "unproven" Addai. (I put that in quotes because you said he was unproven...yea, unproven like MacArthur is an unproven pastor) Once the Pats D got through the line in the 4th qtr, things got pretty ugly. And not even Brady could work under those conditions. I hand it to the Pats D line more than anything. Without that, Brady would still be talking to himself.

You didn't see it on TV, but we had Brady so flustered in the 3rd qtr that he actually threw a stomping fit to one of the refs, walked off to the sidelines and then the coaches all started throwing clipboards. It was right after our D stuffed him for a loss / sack. It was beautiful to see "Mr. Ice" come undone. The dome erupted...

I'll be straight, unless our secondary grows 6 inches taller, we'll have a tough time defending Moss. Jennings is I think 5'8" and Moss is 6'5"...no match at all. It looked like Moss was playing with a group of Pop Warner players.

I'll say it now...Brady is my vote for MVP. He should easily beat Manning's 49 TD's and get the MVP. They probably will go on to win the SB...buuuutt mark my words, if the Pats have to rely on a cold, snowy Foxboro to save them, and they have to rely on their run game to keep the ball, it could be an interesting game. Addai is head and shoulders above Maroney (thank you Mr Polian for another brilliant pick). If Brady is forced to go to teh air (unlike years past in the Razor), he might not be as "cool". They can be beaten (and were for 3.5 qtrs yesterday) and we exposed their few (and I do mean few) weaknesses.

Taco on the defensive...the way i like it!! :)

The Bears were not mentioned for 3 reasons.

1. Bye week- No game
2. Brian Griese
3. My sanctification

Everyone who KNOWS me knows i LOVE one team....

With that said Tom Brady is my favorite non-Chicago Bear player.

Peyton Manning is one of my least favorite guys in the league. It use to be Bill Romonoski or however you spell his name...

The only player i really love on the Colts is not even a player...Coach Dungy.

Joe Addai is PROVING himself this season. He WAS unproven but is def. showing himself to be a VERY GOOD RB...Not a LT or an Adrian Peterson but a very good RB. Probably better than Cedric Benson.

Here's to the Colts losing another game to S.D. this week.

Andrea is due in 3 weeks! Keep us in your prayers

Chargers beat Colts 23-21...or should I say Manning (6 ints), Colt's special teams (gave up 2 TD's), Reggie Wayne (he didn't even look like he showed up and played until 2nd half), Adam Vinateri (FG's he would never have missed whle he was with NE) and an inept head ref (false start when we had a legal shift) won the game for the Chargers. Heck, the Charger should have stayed home and let the Colts do it to themselves.

Bring on the trash...

Oh, BTW, nice win for Chicago.
